Acupuncture of Dr. Zhong Huiyong (China)

Choose of acupuncture according to the same theory as using herbal therapy to improve Yang Qi production and movement in the body.

Experience of Dr. Zhang Huiyong (China), summarized by Dr. Sun Guofeng and Dr. An Fuju (Tianjing city, China)

1. Wen Yang (it means to warm up Yang Qi): use acupuncture point of Guanyuan and Zhongwan (both combined with moxa). This couple points are used for all weakness, cold body constitution and deficiency conditions.

For example:

(1).  Zhongwan and Guanyuan: for difiency and cold in spleen and stomach, bloating in stomach;

(2). Guanyuan and Zigong points: for infertility due to cold condition.

(3). Guanyuan and Shuidao: for enlarged prostate.

(4). Guanyuan and shuigou, shuifeng, shuidao: for accumulation of wetness and hot in the body (so caused bloating in lower stomach, poor appetite, irritable urine, etc.)

2. Tong Yang (it means to improve the Yang Qi to transport in the body): Us acupuncture of Dazhui, Zhiyang, Mingmen, and Yaoyangguan.

For example:

(1). The four Tongyang points plus Jiaji points: for pain in neck, shoulder, upper and lower back, legs, stiffness of spine, and vitiligo.

(2). The four Tongyang points plus Baihui and Sishenchong: for mental and nervous disorders, such as insomnia, Baihe bing (no western medicine term for this clinic condition).

(3). The four Tongyang points plus Yangchi, Yanglingquan and Feiyang: for paralysis, muscle atrophy or very cold feelings in the hands and feet (even for condition close to shock).

3. Shen Yang (it means to help the Yang Qi move up): Baihui point.

This point works to adjust spiritual condition; wake up mind; clear eyes, ears, nose, throat; and also to improve Yang Qi up to the brain. Dr. Zhang always remember to add this point, beside other points in the acupuncture to enhance the healing effects, shorten the healing period.

It is used in the treatment of face paralysis, insomnia, dizziness, teechache and other pain conditions.

4. Qian Yang (it means to bring the Yang Qi down to the lower part of the body): Use acupuncture point of Taichong and Yongquan (both on the feet). It is used in:

(1). Yang Kang conditions. This is a clinic condition in which there is floating Yang in the upper body, mostly and at least on the face. Patients feel hot in the face and hot, poor sleep, easy to be upset, dry mouth, even bleeding in eyes, nose, teeth, etc. but have cold feet, or even stomach pain and diarrhea.

(2). It is also used in illness that is localized in the upper body (head).

For example:

(1). Taichong plus Taiyang: for headache.

(2). Taichong plus Yongquan for sour throat, ulcer in tongue and throat, hard in voice. It is also for lower back pain (due to cold condition).

(4). Taichong plus Baihui and Sishenchong: for poor sleep and irritability. They are double adjust for the nerve system.

5. Jie Yang (it means to connect Yang Qi from one location to another. Here means to conduct Yang Qi from the stem of body to the arm and legs).

To conduct Yang Qi to the arm, use point of Yangchi (on the wrist) and to conduct Yang Qi to the leg and feet, use point of Yanglingquan.

For example: for the treatment of post stroke syndrome, add the point of either Yangchi or Yanglingquan could bring more Yang Qi to the arm and acupuncture on Yanglingquan can bring more Yang Qi to the legs, to speed up the healing. This technique is especially useful for the treatment of numbness and cold feeling on the fingers and toes.
