Comments from Dr. Martin Wang:
In brief, the side effects of insulin are:
-
Low blood sugar syndrome – over reduction of
blood sugar in blood.
-
Allergic reactions – independent of the
amount of insulin use.
-
Weight gain – due to the transformation of
fat from sugar – the aim of insulin products. Look at the
body of type I diabetes patients after insulin treatment.
-
Others.
We should know that, with the use of insulin
products in type II diabetes, there is a chance that our own
pancreas reduce and may even stop to produce natural insulin
from the beta cells in the pancreas. The beta cells may shrink
to lose its natural function and cause reduced blood insulin
level in the blood. Doctors should not use artificial insulin
products in type II diabetes to try to please the patients and
themselves for the quick reduction in the blood sugar level. The
doctor must know that, the reasons for the type II diabetes is
not the reduction of insulin in the pancreas, but the “block” of
insulin binding to the receptors in the cell membranes. If the
degeneration of beta cells in pancreas really occur after the
use of artificial insulin products for a long time, the quit of
insulin will be difficult for patients. What you can do? You
have to stick to the insulin for ever! Who can tell me this is
not a new problem for diabetes patients?
